Hybrid Stringing
Hybrid stringing is the name given to mixing two different string types together. Generally people who mix their strings mix a polyester or monofilament with a synthetic gut. The reason for this is, a polyester string is stiffer than a synthetic gut however a polyester lasts longer. The solution is to mix a polyester with a synthetic gut so you get the nice feel of the gut, however because it is mixed with the polyester it will last longer on your racquet.
