Hi my name is Simon James and I am a personal trainer, tennis coach and professional racquet stringer. I currently work at Beechdown Health Club and Totally Tennis in Basingstoke and offer my services across the area of Hampshire. 

I am currently at the University of Southampton studying sport science. I have always played sport in which my main sport has always been tennis. My tennis experience as a player includes gaining an international prince sponsorship and reaching national school finals 3 years running (last 16 in the country), and I now play for my university. My coaching experience ranges from being head coach of a private health club to coaching performance squads, children's tennis, adult's course's and groups of all ages and ability levels. Summer 2011, I also coached abroad in Lemnos/Greece for 3 months for Neilson's active holidays running the adults and children's tennis programmes on the resort.

I have always been interested and fascinated with fitness training. When I started playing some bigger tennis tournaments I gained a gym sponsorship to increase my speed and strength, and ever since I have had massive interest in the science behind how to reach peak physical condition. Since then I have gained many qualifications in the field, including advanced personal training and nutrition certificates. I am also currently in the final year of my sport degree which I believe gives me some very in-depth knowledge, giving me an edge in the fitness industry. I have years of experience working in a gym environment training clients as well as teaching classes such as spinning and circuits. Since buying my own stringing machine 7 years ago I have strung literally hundreds of thousands of all tennis, squash and badminton racquets. I am a qualified professional racquet stringer with UKRSA. I currently run a racquet stringing service for several different clubs.
